Antique Jet Seed Pearl Pendant Mourning Brooch

A fine and high quality piece of Antique 19th Century Mourning Momento Mori attire, a round pendant, the black material of carved Jet as evidenced by the distinct carving lines on the unpolished back side, the bezel is. I believe a heavy rolled Gold plate although could be solid, it has the look but I will not bother to test this as it is a destructive method and the pendant is virtually untouched, fine condition. The five tiny seed Pearls in the shape of a Flower are genuine and lovely and most likely carry a meaning . The age is circa 1850-90, the origin most likely English. Fastened with a Leverback pin in a "c" clasp.
