Large Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Mourning Brooch with rear crystal Hair Compartment 1870-80

A wonderful antique (tested/unmarked) Sterling Silver Mourning or Memorial Brooch with very intricate hand-etched and applied details. It features a wonderful flower type motif at its center, dramatically embellished with tiny hand etched lines and spheres. Retains its original tube hinge, c-clasp and extended pin stem, all in fine working order. The back has a concave section which originally held an old photo or the hair of a departed love one. The retaining ring and crystal are in place.
